  • A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is an employee benefit that allows you to set aside money, on a pre-tax basis, for certain health care and dependent care expenses.

There are three types of FSA accounts: 1) Health Care FSA (HCFSA)

    2) Limited Expense Health Care FSA (LEX HCFSA)

    3) Dependent Care FSA (DCFSA)

iBiome Healthcare services are HSFSA eligible.

A Health Savings Account (HSA) is an investment account available only to members who are enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) under the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program.

Your HDHP credits a portion of your premium to the HSA.

You also have the option to make pre-tax contributions to the account. The funds in your HSA can be used to pay for your plan deductible and/or qualified medical expenses that do not count towards your deductible.

These accounts earn interest and roll over any remaining balance from year to year. The funds are yours to keep whether you change plans, leave Federal service, or retire.

iBiome Healthcare services are HSA eligible.

DEFINITIONS

  • Functional medicine is a biology-based approach to patient care that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease and illness.

Unlike the traditional health systems approach to disease management, where high blood pressure is treated with medication.

Functional Medicine views high blood pressure and other diseases as a symptom of a deeper imbalance, a deeper root cause.

I look for and focus on that root cause, in treating this, symptoms like high blood pressure improve.

I use natural medicines to treat dis-ease, but am also highly training in traditional medicines….this enables me to use both sets of treatment for your greatest healing.

I am a Nurse Practitioner, and not practicing outside the scope of a nurse practitioner as seen by the CA BRN

  • NPs are quickly becoming the health partner of choice for millions of Americans. As clinicians that blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health management, NPs bring a comprehensive perspective and personal touch to health care.

All NPs must complete a master's or doctoral degree program and have advanced clinical training beyond their initial professional registered nurse (RN) preparation. Didactic and clinical courses prepare nurses with specialized knowledge and clinical competency to practice in primary care, acute care and long-term health care settings.

What sets NPs apart from other health care providers is their unique emphasis on the health and well-being of the whole person. With a focus on health promotion, disease prevention and health education and counseling, NPs guide patients in making smarter health and lifestyle choices, which in turn can lower patients' out-of-pocket costs.”

  • Clinical nurse specialists are advanced practice registered nurses who have graduate preparation (Master’s or Doctorate) in nursing. Like other advanced practice registered nurses, they are trained in physiology, pharmacology and physical assessment in addition to their particular areas of specialty.

Clinical nurse specialists are leaders in health care.

Clinical nurse specialists provide diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients. They also provide expertise and support to nurses caring for patients at the bedside, help drive practice changes throughout the organization, and ensure the use of best practices and evidence-based care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.”

  • Holistic Nursing is defined as “all nursing practice that has healing the whole person as its goal” (American Holistic Nurses’ Association, 1998). Florence Nightingale, who is considered to be the founder of Holistic Nursing, taught nurses to focus on the principles of holism: unity, wellness and the interrelationship of human beings and their environment.

Holistic Nursing is not merely something we do. It is also an attitude, a philosophy and a way of being that requires nurses to integrate self-care, self-responsibility, spirituality, and reflection in their lives. This often leads the nurse to greater awareness of the interconnectedness of self, others, nature, spirit and relationship with the global community.
